| When cybergalleries.com made it's
online debut in the beginning of 1997, it was as a company specializing in web sites for
artists. Although we have done many different kinds of sites in addition to those for
artists, we remain active in the online arts community and we always offer excellent
prices on web sites for artists. Cybergalleries.com maintains The Wall in the Artist's Cafe, an online gallery where artists and poets can showcase their work, free of charge. This site, which opened in February of 1997, is not a juried site nor is it heavily geared towards selling (although some artists have sold pieces from there.) It was begun as a way for artists to share their work and interact with each other. It now features approximately 100 artists and poets. Streaming audio has now been added to the site so that musicians can also share their work with us. In October (of '98) we tested numerous chat programs to find one that would be compatible with the largest number of people. We are now ready to launch the chat room and would be happy to have some volunteers to "host" it. You can find the chat room and other features at The Artist's Cafe. )The cafe is not actually limited to artists although the majority of visitors are involved in some form of creative expression.) Also of interest to artists is a new banner exchange program, exclusively for art and art related sites. This simple and free program is maintained by The ArtHub. By putting a snippet of HTML code on your pages (which The Art Hub will give you to copy/paste), your site will host the banners of other art sites, and in turn, your banner will show on the pages of the other Art Hub Banner Exchange members. (See example of banner at the bottom of this page.) We at cybergalleries.com give a lot of thought to what banners and/or links will appear on our pages and we are happy to be a part of the Art Hub program.
